March 2016: The second round of what has fondly become known as the “Decal Project” has just completed! (Please see my December post below for details on this project). January 2016: It has been fun helping in the classroom with two of Gleneagles Ch’axay Elementary School’s alumni, Scarlet and Sam, as they taught 44 students how to paint a canvas for the school’s anonymous art auction. We got some gorgeous results!
December 2015: As a local artist, Sara was invited to work with three divisions at the Gleneagles Ch’axay Elementary. Sara had the kids each paint an 8 x 8 canvas, which were then photographed by the Gleneagles Community Centre staff and turned into three large window decals. The kids were asked to paint a winter scene, and were restricted only by colour. The remarkable result is below. Please be sure to stop by and see it – it’s on the big windows overlooking the gym. The original art is also on display at the school. Sara looks forward to working with the rest of the divisions to create more art over the remainder of the year!

February 2015: Sara has completed a donation for the Gleneagles Ch’axay Elementary Silent Auction coming up this Feb. 14. It is called “The Randomness of Speculation” (30″ x 30″ x 1.5″). There are multiple layers of texture in this abstract, which can really only be appreciated up close and in person. All proceeds go to the school!
